Behind a good UX, there is always a good UX Design
Every digital product has one. A clue: if it is good, it can generate conversions; if it is bad it can mark the failure of your software. We obviously refer to the User Experience, which is the set of experiences, emotions, behaviors and sensations that a user has experienced before, during and after the interaction with your digital product.
At the base of the UX there is the UX Design, that is the design of the user experience. The UX Design is an approach that simplifies and improves the lives of consumers by creating immediate and friendly experiences, which can guide the achievement of a desired result for both the user and the company that develops the software.
The advantages of adopting the UX Design for your product are many:
- to identify and formalize the objectives from the beginning, to define the problems and solve them based on questionnaires, surveys and interviews with real users;
- to propose products that can stand out and to have greater chances of success in a complex, fragmented and saturated market;
- to receive rewarding ratings and reviews, as well as to get a high ranking
Why the UX affects the ratings of an app or site
According to a 2021 research by Bright Local, 79% of consumers trust the user reviews on the Internet and 77% read them before making a purchase. In addition to the goodness of the service or product, the usability is a determining factor that greatly affects the review.
The elements responsible for a good browsing experience can be summarized in three types:
- the utility, that is the set of data, information and contents relevant to the navigation and the achievement of the objective. The greater the correspondence between what you are looking for and the result, the more positive the UX will be perceived;
- the accessibility, that is the correct operation of the software and the use of the contents without frictions, for each type of user, in an inclusive logic;
- the design, that is the interface as a whole. Because the eye always wants to be satisfied, especially if the intent of the digital product is to be captivating.
Designing a good UX allows you to have good reviews that affect the visibility within the search results in stores and positioning. Not only that: in addition to stellar ratings, the UX, if designed in a meticulous way, pushes your site on Google.
The Mountain View colossus, starting this year, will optimize a result based on the relevance of the content with the keywords that users are looking for, but also on the basis of a pleasant experience. The most intuitive, user-friendly and frictionless pages (that's right: enough with those pop-up messages!) will be rewarded with a higher ranking.
How to use app and site reviews to your advantage and do usability tests
Think of it this way: reviews are alarms, good or bad. For the developers, they are a very important tool for getting feedback and, according to ManageEngine, they help identify 32% of overall problems within an app or site. But above all they are a signal that decrees the beginning of a very important process to be done on the software: the usability tests.
Usability tests are the perfect tool to evaluate the effectiveness of a software and the satisfaction in using it, because they allow you to identify problems related to the user experience such as the failure to complete a procedure, insufficient accessibility to the contents or a not coherent and understandable lexicon. They can be done before a major change in the interface of an app; in the prototyping phase; during an early development phase; or even after a beta release.
One of the most consolidated usability testing techniques is the crowdtesting, which integrates with the internal development team thanks to a community of certified and profiled testers with a fresh-eye approach, a potentially infinite fleet of devices and a very broad experience background.
With the crowdtesting you can be sure that your UX will be tested and validated by a community similar to your target; at the same time you will be able to achieve your business objectives such as the increase in conversion rate, retention rate and engagement rate. Then your reviews will smile at you.
